@telebubba5527 None of those countries would have the regimes they have if Western governments didn't back a certain country in the Middle East We've created our own worst enemies. Any chance of stability and peace in that region was shot the second the Balfour Declaration was signed.

@telebubba5527 Yeah, but my country isn't bankrolling any of those you named. If we want to claim the moral high ground, if we want to claim there's a "rules based international order", we have to actually be moral and enforce fair rules. That we call Russia an evil aggressor that must be stopped while continuing to supply arms and run interference on behalf of this certain Levantine nation is an absolute travesty. Why am I avoiding the name? Don't want my comment to get autofiltered. I can say what I like about Russia. Hmm.

A lot of people in the West conflate Russian people with the Russian government and blame Russians for things they have little to no control over. So yes Russophobia is a real thing but also the Russian state uses imagined or exaggerated examples of Russophobia to it's advantage the same way a certain country in the Levant uses alleged anti-Semitism as a weapon.

We're all caught in a historical loop. The UK has transformed from a social democracy with near full employment and free education and healthcare to a failing liberal democracy that is neither particularly liberal or democratic and behaves with contempt towards the young and working-class. Kinda like the late 19th century. Cool!
