@tevarinvagabond1192 Japan is a very "orderly" society, which is great when the trains arrive on time and your package arrives in a two-hour window... and godawful when you have to work yourself to death to make a living - you're not even allowed to leave the office until your boss does - and you can't express yourself or complain about anything at all or everybody will treat you like a crazy person. Also, Japanese bureaucracy is insane and many businesses still insist on fax for communication instead of email because "it's more professional" and Japan's ageing population and cultural conservatism means We Do It That Way Because We Always Have And We Refuse To Change. I think that's my take on Japan; it's just very different to the USA and Western Europe culturally, and people underestimate how hard it is to adjust to.
