  2. ​​​​​ @Mastakilla91 That's the post-Communist experience in general, as soon as the borders opened everyone under 40 left to be exploited by Western companies looking for cheap labour. Bulgaria had 9m people in 1991 and it has just over 7m now. The loss of state support to economically deprived areas screwed over provincial towns and cities really badly. As infrastructure rotted, your choice was leave or live in poverty. Of course you know this, you don't need a lecture. It's for other Westerners like me. Capitalism is not all "wealth creation" and "development".
