@maths4297 It literally isn't creative. Telling an algorithm to search it's memory banks for data that matches your prompt so it can vomit forth a seven-fingered, glassy-eyed demon isn't creativity. It's the Mechanical Turk.

@Starfloofle There's a decent chance it will collapse on its own. Like 50% of the internet is bots sharing content that is commented on by bots. LLMs are already consuming other LLM-generated content. It's like a closed ecosystem of slop. Once it becomes clear to even Joe Moron, CEO that ad revenue is fake because all engagement is fake, the slip farms will cease to be profitable. Now as regards AI use in TV/film production etc, that's a trickier one for me to call. I hope when the AI bubble pops it damages the tech industry badly enough to render legislation less necessary. God I hate the tech sector.
