That's a good test to use on anyone, not just a potential partner. Is your friend a true friend or just a user? You never really know someone until you've seen how they behave when they can't get what they want.

@jordixboy Personally I go by the principle that I'm not taking a woman anywhere I wouldn't regularly go to. Forget this "spend to impress" stuff, you'll just prime her to expect gestures like this all the time. Faking it while you're dating is just setting yourself up for pain.

@foxgloverose4788 Are you serious? Women just can't ever give men a break. Offer to take them out somewhere nice and it's "Can't you see I'm a busy strong independent woman that don't need no man!" It's exhausting dealing with you. You're ALWAYS right. You're like bratty teenagers.

@supercal333 Nah, I wouldn't give her another chance. While I agree OP came on a little patronizing, she overreacted which suggests she'd be a real pain in a relationship - the sort to blame everything on you and never take responsibility for anything because girlboss or whatever.

You're exactly right. If she was really interested in you, she'd have agreed. She ghosted you because she saw you as a meal ticket. Women are pretty much always messaging multiple guys on those apps, she just found a bigger sucker.
