@ebashunegrov AI content is absolute slop, but unfortunately it's very very cheap slop so you can expect entertainment media conglomerates to make heavy use of it. Everybody will lose out except a select few.

In a capitalist system everything is a product. You are a product. It's why the current trend of describing stuff as "content" annoys me. It's so nakedly "this is a thing we can derive value from, who cares about it beyond that."

Maybe if we weren't so lazy as a species we wouldn't be saddled with this shit. We've created a life so devoid of struggle that doing the dishes is considered a problem worth inventing the Slop-O-Matic 9000 and frying our children's curious brains for.

@reidalyn2328 As of 2024 the worst word in the English language is "content" Art, beauty, meaning, emotional response? Nah. CONTENT. Sit your child in front of a screen. They fry their brain with CONTENT from YouTube Kids so you are free to doomscroll Twitter and fry your brain with CONTENT. I know it's a cliché to go on a rant about capitalism but "content" may be the ultimate expression of the capitalist idea that everything is merely a product to be sold. "Content". It is a thing, it exists, you will consume it, you will demand more content, the AI slop machine will generate more content. Like eating nothing but cardboard wafers, your stomach is full but you are dying of malnutrition. Don't worry, there's always more content!

@Jackie_XIII "AI" is a giant load of bullshit but Silicon Valley keep talking about how amazing it is and how the singularity will happen, like, next week bro, it'll change everything, just keep pumping us full of venture capital In truth all "AI" is good for is generating absolute garbage "content" that is of no value but costs so little to make one can turn a profit selling such slop to brain rot casualties. Nobody gains from this except the unscrupulous, soulless 'entrepreneur'. I worry that Hollyweird et. al will catch on and make use of it, and then we all lose. As is mainstream film-making isn't shit enough already.
