 @angiepangie989 I'm a mailman and dogs can be REALLY annoying! Not labs though. Labs are wonderful, precious creatures.

@angelbear_og Yeah, a lot of people choose a breed of dog as a pet that has no business being a pet because they think it's "cute". Nothing cute about your pit bull mauling a child! But they always say "Oh, he's an angel, he wouldn't do that". Uh-huh, that's why he's growling and slobbering at me, is it? I've come to think the average American is an irresponsible owner; they overfeed their dogs, don't exercise them enough, don't know how to train them, etc. It's a tough responsibility, not unlike having kids. And a lot of people suck at that too.

@LRM12o8 Another reason directors dislike high frame rates is it can make sets look cheap and nasty. Something about the reduction in motion blur really shows up small issues with sets.

One of the major ones is around observatories. LPS lights have a much narrower frequency band than HPS lights, so it's easier to filter out the light they cast. I don't know if they're still commonplace in that context. Might be obsolete now LED lighting is commonplace; because LED lighting is much more directional, LED light fixtures won't cast so much light into the sky.
