  3. @Guarda Chuva: you equate government and institutions. They are not the same thing. Most Americans (including me) profoundly distrust our government, no matter who it is. But we count on and trust our institutions.

  7. Thanks for the video. It seems to me you're on the right track, though it also seems you're trying for a "unified field theory". I have several quibbles, the most obvious to me being that it all comes from disease. That doesn't explain the myriad times when societies and civilizations behaved as if there was no disease anywhere. I suspect it's more likely to come from our innate need to categorize and the accompanying hierarchical distinctions. That and fear, though not particularly of disease. But it was really worth the watch and listen: thanks again!
