  16. This is BS. Liberal democracy has been crashing for a long time and it's because there's no protection for the political minority when the majority rules. Federated systems were meant to protect that minority but they're all becoming unitary. That works fine when the VAST majority goes along but it's tyrannical when there's a considerable minority. We're seeing it in the UK, Canada, Australia, NZ, Germany, France, the Netherlands, the US, Brasil, South Africa and on and on.

  17. What's frightening is the right wing is gaining strength because the left wing is screwing up so badly. It creates more polarization. No one seems to be able to straddle a middle ground, and there IS one, but polarization makes it impossible to see or tolerate. Your comment is a proof of that.
