It seems the Syrian government are trying to assert their authority (which is fair since that's the whole point of a government), while the Druze don't trust the government to protect them from the radicals. Honestly not a clear solution because both sides have legitimate demands. Maybe if the government cracked down hard on the radicals after what they've done to the Alawites and Christians, the Druze would trust them more. Also potentially strike a deal with Israel to back off
