Life is a rigged game that we're forced to play and can only escape usually via painful and/or risky means But "liFe iS beAutIfuL bRo" I guess...

Yes, because working hard in a rigged system will make the system fair... Makes perfect sense 😑

Truth is, no matter what system we follow, we will always have stark inequality of opportunity. A few will succeed and a whole bunch more will live in misery
1
Lemme guess. You believe poor people just don't work as hard?
1
 @Filistiin87 So why is it a load of nonsense to you?
1
You can accept your lot in life and make the most of it. Or try to play the lottery of life. Or the other solution if it gets unbearable (which I will do one of these days)

It absolutely is a zero sum game. The only way around is to have infinite resources. That obviously isn't the case, and so we are left competing for the finite resources available, thus we play a zero sum game

 @michaelscholes8956 No, wealth IS finite because resources are finite, no matter how much you innovate on efficiency. At some point, there is nothing left because its all been taken or used up. You have a misunderstanding of what zero sum means. It does not preclude two parties from benefitting via cooperation. What it means is that for every gain you make, somebody somewhere out there made a loss. Whether that's a loss in money, or opportunity. Why? Because resources and wealth are finite. It's not a fallacy. It's actually very straightforward, yet uncomfortable for some folks to admit
1
 @michaelscholes8956 Not quite. Wealth is just assets. We wouldn't say an asset like a mansion has existed since the stone age. But the resources to build the mansion? Yes, as per the law of conservation of matter The global population has increased but so has our discovery of resources. We've found, dug up, and used a lot more of the finite supply of resources to build and create more with it, and thus all gotten 'wealthier'. See the difference? Resources indicate what's out there. Wealth indicates how much of that a person or a bunch of people own

 @alicesorrow3824 Doesn't make a difference
1
Yep. Keep gaslighting the folks who get screwed by a rigged system. Looks like you care more about confirming your bias than the truth
1
Yeah, and when that next generation made it via daddy's money, guess what that's called? Hint: not meritocracy
