@talithagrisham3746 it's the same for us true Brits to we don't want empires back but it's hard to think today that around 200 years ago where actually fighting wars over America. Your our list cousins in a historically sense something has gone very wrong today.

@Amy-rl3ny I'm worried for the UK historically it's different for us in Europe and the UK because before ww1 and ww2 through world was totally different from what it is today we was a land of empires here let's say before ww1 a few nations like America had already gotten independence from us but lots of them empires still existed after ww1 and ww2 thru dont today but what exists today outside of Europe and a few nations in Europe exist today because our empires don't now

@SuEnRoD it's a shame we went from the biggest empire in recorded history to that. You couldn't make it up. Always remember though new York is technically ours we want our colonies back.

The world has come very far since ww1 look how far America has come since 1776 it's your 250th birthday next year for the rest of the world it's a lot more recent then that and in Europe we are still haunted by that past no one wants to face.

@noctusfury6918 it's funny we took a lot from the Dutch all over the world including south Africa and Australia and new Zealand new Zealand is even named after a plane in Holland Australia used to be called new Holland and new York new Amsterdam at one stage. Even northern Ireland was a Dutch colony first not British.

@noctusfury6918 technically there was settlements in America but us in western Europe colonised the east coast and crested settlements while that Spanish took lot of the south of America and the west coast all the way to Vancouver in Canada they was a Spanish settlement before we took it over. The oldest town in America today is st Augustine in Florida that was a Spanish settlement.

@noctusfury6918 I wish they would do this for historical purposes today and change the word colonies into settlements today it would make more sense across the world today to how the world has changed around Europe today.

@noctusfury6918 you tell me what's the difference between a settlement and colony thats why problems in Palestine exist in the 21st century it's harder there Now it needs negotiation now but the world outside Palestine is created the same way difference is with her rest of the middle east and some places in Eastern Europe they got independence from us due to different empire they lived under and ww1. A settlement is a place where people live, while a colony is a settlement established by a group of people from another country. The practice of establishing colonies is called colonialism.
