  1. Oh, so Grace has taken over CITY PROPERTY and is charging for it? Nice gig. When are people going have to adult up? I have to WORK to pay for a legal roof over my head...I worked 7 days in a row to make sure I have a place to live. Why are these people allowed to do whatever?   16. They had enough officers for the protests during covid...but they NEVER have swat teams for these kids driving crazy. This isn't new...it's been going on for years. BTW - I pay taxes as well, buddy. Just because you own a home, you feel more entitled to services? We all deserve service when we call...and NONE of us are getting it.

I'm living in the thick of it...needles and human waste outside my front door, etc. People screaming and setting fires 🔥 all the time. It's scary. After working my last 10 day stretch, I'm tired. I'm exhausted from having to deal with others and their issues...along with working so much to have a place to sleep. Portland is a nightmare.

  26. I wish there was money for in-house treatment for addicts. NA is the poor mans version of rehab, and unless someone is super ready to kick the habit, NA falls short. We live in a "free society" - so rounding up addicts and forcing them into real treatment isn't an option. But I wish it was. The addicts scare me to death. The anger that comes from a "come-down" is intense and extremely scary for those of us that simple want to make it to our car safely. Not really sure I see the connection with legalized weed? I don't have the answers.

  27. We can all fall on hard times - it can happen to anyone. If you are sent to collections - set up a payment plan. $20 a month. Anything. I've never heard of a collection agency dipping into someones bank account tho - that's new territory for me.

  40. Not sure how to put this...tough shyt. We live in a so-called society, with certain rules and norms. If you can't even try or want to adapt to these rules and norms, this is what will happen. It's time for those who can to adult up and stop trashing our neighborhoods. I don't feel like working 7 days in a row to pay for overpriced housing, but I do it. My compassion goes out the door when my safety comes into question. And my safety is in question every time I leave my building.

I was told that my neighborhood is mostly industrial? Now we (neighbors) are getting ticketed left and right. Cut the parking permit staff.

  45. I'm confused. Let me state upfront that I'm not shaming or making assumptions about anyone. Ok...as soon as I was laid off, I applied and received unemployment. I was getting more money than I had if I had still been working. I saved a lot of that money for taxes...and to be prepared for the unknown. I never had a problem paying my rent. My confusion comes in when people say that can't or didn't pay their rent. The only folks that wouldn't receive unemployment are those that hadn't been working in the first place. I'm grateful how Oregon handled the huge demand for unemployment...and the federal government stepping up. I'm back to work...but I'm sending the Department of Employment a thank you note.
