  1. Why isn't there motherboard ram soldered right next to the socket, save having to go all the way to a dimm slot for system ram if there were like 2 gigs of regular ram built right onto the board like an L5 cache? I realize it'd still be much slower than cache, but it would clock at least twice what dimm sticks could so even though it's dram, if the os and igp had access to a built in ram chip or two in addition to system memory it'd be awesome for ux, rendering, games and heavy encryption etc. Even file transfers to chipset would see huge benefit especially with pcie 5 approaching ram speeds these days.
