  1. The walls of the smart home walled garden are crumbling because so is privacy. If you have an iPad and run all Samsung appliances, apple has your data and list of devices. If you're an apple buff and own one Samsung device, Samsung has all of your Apple devices and usage statistics. Likewise with Google. You see, with ad delivery systems changing and privacy issues with vendors spreading, they all get more anonymity in their violations if they all use the same policy standard. They all rip user data together and they're all protected by the veneer or "openness" absent competent regulation. This smart home standardization is an affront to personal sovreinty because you're forced and prompted constantly to accept terms of service just once for all your devices to mine all your data throughout the entire network even if your touch screen just accidentally registers a press from a cat or drop of sweat. We should be angry not supportive imho
