  1. I think if 6-year-old children can learn directory structures then anyone who uses a device should be required to know how to save and find their own files/programs... There is no complexity being abstracted away by Apple or Microsoft hiding file paths from users, and there's no benefit to users to be so infantalized that they become helpless when a layout doesn't read their minds or do something to their files without them ever asking. Giving companies that level of authority of private user data on private user devices is a recipe for being hacked or incapacitated at the whims of third parties. There's just no reason for abstracting away something that is easy and useful to know.
