  1. EU lawmakers have no idea how technology works lol how do you secure a public api without divulging implementation details the security hinges upon? It's like forcing open a back door for public use and hoping nobody finds a way upstairs as they stomp around the ground level at will. We have standard aes and its breakable. TLS is great but it's prone to man in the middle still. Building another layer between encryption protocols is definitely less secure, no doubt, even if the algorithm is sound the user is made more vulnerable regardless.
