  1. I suspect it's way more likely for a person to send money to a blacklisted country where their mother and family lives, than for it to be nefarious. If I escaped Russia, or China and got citizenship abroad, leaving my family behind. I'd probably take a 10% bitcoin fee than have the money stolen, me on a watch list or charged with terrorism, or pay a 25% fee on a couple hundred dollars to have it wired in 24 hours rather than 2hrs over bitcoin. There's a lot of silver spoon bias in this piece, imho. Median transaction size is $250, that supports my thesis more than yours, I think.
