The worst is shameless passing of the buck: "it'd not our fault, we read something online", as if it's unreasonable to expect critical thinking, fact checking, or maybe just wait before lighting a match? Worse than anything, it's the normalizing and attenuating of sensible social behaviours of adults, imho. And if we get duped or make a mistake, that's fine, we're human, but own that mistake don't blame the Russian propaganda arm for convincing you. Own the mistake so you and everybody else restore cognitive vigilance. That's the function of a bit of shame. We need it badly.
