  2. Holy misinformation batman.. It was first used as gaming tokens and loot in mmo RPGs, not guns ans drugs - that came after it had millions in capitalization years later. Governments aren't threatened by it because currency gets its public trust by way of the government allowing only certain currency as tax remittance, which is why fiat currency works without a gold backed reserve. The "tech" of blockchain is just a public ledger with hashing functions remotely reconciling accounts redundantly instead of by banks privately through the ACH. Regulators have figured out how to handle it btw - don't accept it as legal tender and it will always need to be converted into cash, goods or services. Disappointed in you guys, Vice usually does better than this.
