You know what's so insane about all this fake news shit? Nobody even bothers to consider "maybe we need to teach people to think critically and form opinions based on facts instead of memes". How much more resources are we going to waste stifling human rights when it wouldn't even be a topic of discussion if we simply stop accepting that people are dumb? People aren't dumb, they're misinformed and ill taught. Really cheap and easy fix for all of this crap, just take out ads that say "hey, don't forget to cross reference before you share". Done.
