  1. That drive to be the best was what brought us algebra, chemistry, sine and co-functions, algorithms, medicine, etc. It was for the glory of God by way of enlightening mankind. I don't think the drive for greatness itself is problematic, but rather extremism and core values which are the more deterministic clues to dysfunctional interpretations of any orthodoxical beliefs.
