  1. Ssd are so cheap why not just have a completely separate install? The installer makes it super easy, shut off auto update and never use it. I'm a Linux newb and I've used it a ton of times when mucking about with drivers over the past 5 years I switched to Linux because of Windows updates and telemetry finally forcing my hand. Never looked back, but I keep an old win 10 install on hand too. 2 win 10 installs actually, one for internet access without mounting drives, and the main windows install for some casual games or software from time to time that's too difficult to run on Linux. There's no reason not to have backup boot menu options. Grub is dope, you can even fancy up the loader menu if you're so inclined like me lol
