  1. As a middle aged guy, it would help to normalize the subject. I had to learn by tv commercials because my gf when I was a teen was too embarrassed, likely because the subject wasn't yet normalized. Just saying "because my period" doesn't do anything to teach young men what the experience is like fir a woman, and for many of those women seeking a sensitive man it does nothing for them if no man is taught what that cycle does to affect women. If we could just discuss it and force ADHD boys like me to pay attention it's go a long way in reducing Sexism imho, just by learning little things before flawed patterns are reinforced in our brains, which may lead to sexism if not quashed young.

  2. It may sound dumb, but I've been using Linux for a few years now and I still struggle to track down which deps are managed by which package manager. If you could do a video walking through the tedious process of chasing down and manually pointing to specific dep versions please? It's really hard to trace down and sometimes you have to, like building from source (ffmpeg and Tensorflow for example)

  3. To me, the merger means a single point of failure if management turns bad. It then ruins two critical projects. This is a case where inefficient is still better so long as both projects are successful on their own. I don't think they're doing bad at all right now, but the risk of crapping the bed just doubled.

  10. doubleclick to maximize a window doesn't work? it's way harder to click on maximize that tiny icon rather than doubleclicking anywhere on the title bar. what bugs me though is launchers on the desktop, not having that is ridiculous

I have an idea for zfs: If you have 8gigs of of ram and 16 gigs set up as swap you can consume the physical memory by mounting a ramdisk after boot so only swap will be available for operations. If the swap is on a sata ssd and everything else is running off a faster nvme then you would have the sata swap drive bottleneck all memory operations so only the filesystem speed would left to differentiate benchmark results, right?

  23. I just realized Arjan has 10% the subcribers I just assumed the channel had from watching for so long. I honestly believed for years this was a 1 million+ channel and only just now realized it wasn't. I need to comment and share more, this is my fault.

  24. Almost never mentioned: if wages rise sharply but tax brackets don't adjust accordingly, you're still poorer even if wage hikes track price hikes if tax relief isn't in lock step as well. The lowest back and fixed sales taxes aren't kind to the bottom end.
