I'm still a Yang supporter partly because his main pitch is something that I've been arguing about for years. I understand a lot of the problems Sam and crew point out about him though, especially on Medicare. But one of the main reasons I'm a Yang supporter is because I still think he's going to pull the most of the disaffected/rural white voters who aren't literal Nazi's and maybe get a few people to calm down with their big idea of throwing hand grenades (see:Donald J Trump) into our institutions because they feel forgotten.

Maybe I'm just dense but when Yang said it wasn't the name of a bill I took it as him saying the section on Medicare for All on his website itself wasn't a bill or even a proposed bill. I get a lot of the criticisms of Yang when it comes to this issue though.

@douglaslangley9251 I used to be a Conservative Talk Radio listener for years and I know exactly where the hand grenade mentality comes from. All I can say is good luck getting a candidate that has concrete positions on every issue and none that you disagree with.

@hokeypokeypots By that logic where did Bernie get his $34.5 million? Must not be from people who need help paying for their medical bills huh? I hope you rethink that line of reasoning.

@hokeypokeypots I'm in Tuscaloosa and I've been giving a meager $20 for the last 13 month's or so. I've never donated to a presidential campaign before and if I'm doing it I know I'm not the only one. I just want to say we aren't all internet trolls and we aren't all in a personality cult around the guy. I get that Sam and crew don't like Yang and I don't disagree with them on a lot of their points. But I'm getting too old to expect any one politician to check every one of my boxes.

@hokeypokeypots I wasn't talking about Trump's actual base, I know as well as you do that those people are long gone.

@hokeypokeypots Agreed, that would be ridiculous for me to say. I was only trying to point out how someone could use the same sort of logic and reach a wrong conclusion about Bernie. I have a feeling you and I would probably agree on 8 or 9 out of 10 positions and I'm not a Bernie hater by any stretch of the imagination. He's just my second choice at the moment.

@hokeypokeypots That's all we can do. That, and hope the DNC doesn't shoot us all in the foot again. If Biden gets the nomination I see another 4-12 years of Trump. 😔

Jeez, some of us are regular people who think if he gets the nomination he will have the best chance of actually pulling people who might otherwise vote for Trump. I get that everyone's mad about the Medicare issue in particular but if we don't get Trump out we are in even worse shape. It needs to be clear and resounding and I just think he would win by the widest margin. Trump out and preferably behind bars, then time to recover and regroup our institutions is the top of my list of priorities.
