  1.  @boyraptor  The Kohinoor was gifted by Maharajah Duleep Singh, in gratitude for the UK's assistance in a Sikh war. The circumstances under which he gained possession of it are a bit murky. Four countries claim it; India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. Who would you give it to? As for the Elgin marbles, they were taken with the permission of the legal authorities at the time; ie The Ottomans. They were not under British occupation at all. Lord Elgin, a diplomat, took them because at the time, long before the development of cement, the local people were burning all the marble on the monuments to make lime for construction. Would you rather he left them to be burned to make mortar?
