So , so, sad to witness the death of a society.
63
Crazy! I have lived in Asia for more than thirty five years. Even if I live here for thirty five years more, I will not be Asian.
62
I will give you three guesses; what would happen to any European who crosses the border of any African country illegally and with no documents? I will give you a clue. You will not go to a hotel, you will not be given pocket money, you will not get free food.
62
Statues are normally erected to commemorate people who have made a remarkable contribution to the nation. This woman and her ilk certainly have!
62
The demise of Ireland is a sad sight.
61
Nothing whatever! If we had competent public servants, honest and patriotic politicians and judges with a social conscience, then things might change for the better.
60
All ideologies should be open to question, critique and mockery. History tells us what happens to societies when that is made illegal.
59
The death of our society is so sad.
58
The search for victim-hood is a lifelong project.
58
Didn't we all used to say that you can't get a quart into a pint pot? The UK government and most institutions have abandoned common sense, common decency and all integrity.
57
Only recently, Dawn Butler, a London MP, claimed mortgage payments for a second home just ten miles from her residence and a jacuzzi to go with it. Amazingly, despite knowing where she lives, the expenses office approved the payments! No charges, no conviction for fraud, no expulsion from the Labour Party.
57
The new 'nasty party'.
56
"Diversity is our strength", they used to tell us. If it is such a marvelous thing, why do most countries in the world have no interest in it whatsoever?
55
If multi culti is so good, why do African and Asian countries not want it?
55
Kidnapping sausages is a disgrace! I agree with free gear Kier, that they must be returned immediately.
55
Straight out of the USSR playbook.
55
Rather a thin book I imagine, just like the compendium of Italian battle victories. Black people have to move to white countries to reach their full potential.
54
True, except that many people of ethnic and religious minorities have decided to segregate themselves, both from the majority population and from other minorities.
52
He really is as thick as mince and knows nothing about the lot of small business owners and working class folk. He is a good example of why the working classes feel abandoned by the Labour Party. One thing that Khan't keeps raising to justify this scam is deaths on children with cancer. Well, children and adults die from asthma everywhere. Some years ago, at my school of 350 pupils, deep in rural Oxfordshire, two children in that school died from asthma attacks. Nothing to do with car emissions there. I also came across deaths from asthma in two hospitals in rural North Bangladesh, barely a car or a lorry in sight, for days in that area.
51
Fearing or disliking an ideology is not the same as fearing or hating people. As for those who formerly returned to North Africa, there were no welfare benefits in those days.
50
Truly shocking and upsetting.
50
Yes it is. I remember a Save the Children Fund pamphlet about female genital mutilation, (FGM). The picture on the front was a blonde white girl.
49
Have you heard that the ship, De Wadden, in Liverpool is to be scrapped? It will be replaced with a slavery museum. St George was not English. St Patrick was not Irish, St Andrews was not Scottish.
48
They do. Read Paul Embery's book; Despised Why the Modern Left Loathes the Working Class.
47
That demonstrates the vile nature of abortion, perpetrated on babies who have committed no crimes and have not had their day in court.
46
We need some of these right now.
44
As if they don't already have enough problems. Sad. Enoch would be disappointed. Plenty of work for the Prison Officers.
43
The most stark example was when the Tories proposed to remove basic civil rights, during the big C, none of the opposition raised objections. Include the mainstream media in that. It was a very serious warning of how easy it is to create a tyranny. We all get the government we deserve.
43
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was a minister in a brutal murderous government. In order to preserve his position and his reputation, he allowed hundreds of thousands of Ethiopian citizens to die, rather than admit that there was a cholera outbreak.
43
The UK is in deep, deep, trouble.
42
The best way to deal with persistent attention-seekers, is to ignore them.
42
One more step, further into tyranny.
42
I could not care less about sport in Afghanistan.
41
Spears are net-zero, so might catch on in Europe. Perhaps Greater Thunderbird could promote them online.
41
The benefits system has also done so much damage.
41
I remember when I was a child in Oxfordshire, they used to terrorise the locals, open theft, leaving piles of rubbish and dead donkeys, threats of early death if one did not buy their clothes pegs etc.
41
Two tier Kier, two tier policing, two tier justice.
40
The formula and foundation needed for a satisfactory life are the same for everyone, whatever their background or family circumstances.
40
Let's face it everything is racist. We already know that, the whole of the UK's rural area is racist and colonial. I heard that maths and good grammar are also racist, so it seems clear that universities must also be racist. Of course, Turkish, Roman, Russian and Khmer universities are not racist, even though they also had Empires.
39
We have been worn down, we all know that it is never going to happen. Indeed, the indigenous people have had to adjust to the newbies and accept the massive changes that have taken place, to take account of the exotic habits and attitudes of immigrants.
38
@candy-le4nh Just take a look around you. Take a look at the map. Take a look at many of the things you use. Even the device you are using right now. Take a look at Common Law, adopted across the world. Habeas Corpus, parliamentary democracy, sovereignty of the individual, separation of powers, all British. Shall I go on and into more detail?
37
NO! Germany was in and out of recession for over and has a higher unemployment rate that the UK. Is that also because of brexit? I also voted to remain in the common market, a trading club. The EU is not the same as the common market.
37
The industrial revolution has lifted bilions out of absolute poverty. It led to people being healthier, longer lived, better educated. It also lowered infant and maternal mortality. Pakistan and Bangladesh have always been prone to flooding. They are located just below the Himalayas, so the monsoon, combined with snow melt in the mountains, results in a build up of water. Cutting down forests to make charcoal, because the people have no electricity or gas, just makes things worse.
36
A good and decent man.
36
Olusoga is not a serious historian. Rather he is a peddler of myths.
36
The right to silence has also been reduced. It is really disgraceful.
35
I am also shocked that students are so enthusiastic about censoring opinions they don't share.
34
Known as the soft bigotry of low expectations. For the first time I now feel that I must take note of the origins of my doctor and his qualifications, before I agree to any treatment.
34
The search for victim-hood is a lifelong project. Olusoga is pretty good at peddling myths and downright lies. He is not really a historian.
34
It is a blasphemy law, by another name.
