Well, children and adults die from asthma everywhere. Some years ago, at my school of 350 pupils, deep in rural Oxfordshire, two children in that school died from asthma attacks. Nothing to do with car emissions there. I also came across deaths from asthma in two hospitals in rural North Bangladesh, barely a car or a lorry in sight, for days in that area.

Pakistan and Bangladesh have always been prone to flooding. They are located just below the Himalayas, so the monsoon, combined with snow melt in the mountains, results in a build up of water. Cutting down forests to make charcoal, because the people have no electricity or gas, just makes things worse.
