@msimms-ft9yv Complacency always blazes the trail for tyranny. It is already happening across the UK. People who live there don't notice it so much, rather like the frog in the boiling pot. Those who are outside see it a little more clearly. It is like looking into a well lit house from outside in the dark. Hate speech laws, deplatforming people because of their views, shunning political party members because they speak against government policy, censorship of books written decades, even centuries ago, libraries removing books from their shelves due to the content. Banks closing accounts because they don't like what they think customer believes. Prosecuting people for jokes they have made, arresting people for praying on the street There is much, much, more. These are all things that we used to think of as happening in the USSR or Red China.
