  21.  @SineEyed  A gun does not prevent house intrusions or attacks from taking place, but, like insurance can certainly correct the situation by eliminating the potential consequences, just like insurance.

People want to carry a gun or own a gun, because they cannot carry a policeman or own a policeman. That is why owning a gun is like insurance. We don't want to use it, but we want it in place and ready, in case we need to. I think you need to read through again.
