In Laos (since 1996) and in Vietnam thousands of men and women are still dealing with UXO and in Cambodia with landmines, all remaining from the Indochina wars. It's not just about residences, risky areas include farmland, playgrounds, roads, river banks, bridges, areas where children might wander or play.

  2. The very first thing to do is to find and safely dispose of unexploded ordnance. Immediate post war, when people return to their homes, is a very dangerous time.
