  2. Yeah, I haven't figured out the intended PURPOSE of the dem debates: do they want to get non-dems to vote for them; or do they want to increase the proportion of dems that vote for them? The debates are structured for the former, while the latter might be a more practical approach, in which case the frontrunners would be better served by giving more time to the lesser candidates. That way, you get a good airing of the issues' positions that differentiate the candidates, allowing clearer choices--for DEMS.

  5. Perhaps, "sanity", is not all it's cracked up to be! You think because you don't have a recognized psychiatric "disorder" you're sane? I'd ask that you think again. Psychiatry is a scam, logically speaking; it's "black-box analysis" run amok! Another population "control mechanism". The dictionary has it that "sanity" is "rationality". Fine. "Rationality" is based, linguistically, in "ratiocination", a comparison process; the dictionary equates it with "reason; a process of logical judgement". Socially, "sanity", means acting and thinking like everyone else, which is a crack-pot definition of "sanity"; not rational, or reasonable. But, it's the attitude of psychiatry: there's only a problem if there's a problem. If you can live your life comfortably in your own skin, then there's no problem. The "problems" psychiatry recognizes are descriptions of symptom sets; there is no medical test for any psychiatric disorder. Of course, a common descriptor of every disorder is its problematic expression. No problem? Then, no problem! So, "mental health" is simply the overt lack of debilitating invisible motivations. So, yeah, my loss...hehehe. I expect the second round of debates to be more...meaty...as the bottom rungs fall away. With the field winnowed by half, the "debates" should become more serious.

  13. You're getting closer to the point, hexen: corporations acting at the behest of the government. Congress has explicitly recruited facebook to do its bidding in regard to censorship. This is potentially disastrous. None of these platforms should be in the business of manipulating opinion--and that's what happens when one side is arbitrarily squelched! What happened to the distinction between a publisher and a content creator? A publisher should have no prerogative to even be aware of demographic and political profiles of its customers. This at least keeps the communication channels neutral while the nervous nellies figure out how to save the children from internet words. That's really what this whole election meddling thing was meant to accomplish: get the people under control! These social networks have expanded the audiences of alternative news sources not responsive to government control/influence, which is a huge problem for the govt/official narrative(s). The whole controlled news system was at stake. So they simply extended their umbrella of control over the alternative news sources--they don't have to be destroyed to be marginalized. It might be a brilliant ploy if it wasn't so transparent.

The responsible approach to profit is to deliver a better product--in this case, journalism is (purportedly) the product. That approach has gone out of vogue; it's cheaper and easier to fake the news, and slant it for flavor--iow, trick the consumer into buying an inferior product. To me, the change in approach was caused by the exit of principled management personnel, and the entrance of people who suffer from weak character. Behind all great movements there are a few singular individuals...
