It's not fair, Styx, to say repeating the words of the prayer is useless--you "fake it 'till you make it"; the fuller understanding dawns later. Indeed, every form of training involves learning the motions to go through, "the ropes". That learned familiarity is what makes advancement possible, the shoulders of the giants we stand on. And "advancement", "progress", is not a "one and done" thing. It's a process, arguably, never-ending. In fact, "the smaller the steps, the easier the climb"!

Unquantifiable damages are a headache for the legal system to manage, especially when the damaged party is "society"...know what I mean? He should get probation; the media who exploited his fraud should, more properly, PAY! If not for the widespread exposure of the incident, there would be no "societal" damage to qualify as such. The bulk of the responsibility for damage falls to the media that proliferated the story for profit. This is the core problem: the media cannot be held responsible for its incompetence; their is no mechanism to do so, since legislation has removed it. This allows one, or both, of two conclusions: this lovely quagmire of incompetent opinion (i.e. "news", social media) is by design, for profit, because they can; and/or they are stupid and incompetent to recognize their own stupidity.
