C'mon, people cause censorship. Some of the most prolific censors have been socialist...is it still capitalism's fault?! Silicon Valley is more monolithic than hypercentralized, which implies a large group of entities in hierarchical relationship. I doubt there's a well-defined sense of competition within the silicon valley enclave. I suspect they are well-aligned with each other...But, such alignment does represent a business advantage, even if it's not competitive. Censorship is not a distinct evil. It's a loaded word indicating a process of communication limitation that's been in use for all of recorded history to ensure the grip the powerful exert on the rest of us. Censorship is just one tool in the tyrant's tool box. Out of a fear of death everybody wants the power to secure his life...that's the starting gun, so to speak. Fear is the engine of human activity. What fuel do you use in your engine?
