  1. That was what was unique about America: nowhere before had government respected the prerogatives of individuality! For all of history, the only individuals allowed were elite individuals; the masses were considered, and treated, as slaves. Upstart America had the nerve to declare every man a sovereign entity! In so doing it attracts everyone to its shores...and foments insurrection among the slaves worldwide.
