  1. The purpose and intention of mysticism is the direct apprehension of Godhead. It's watchword is "slay the mind". Magic is the philosophical complement of mysticism whereby mind and mechanism are used to approach Godhead--"as above, so below, and as below, so above". Conceiving a scale of "occultism", mysticism falls on one end, and magic, on the other end of the scale. The middle range of the scale might be called, "confusion". hehe
