  1. Yeah, I've heard this comparison before, individualism vs collectivism; it seems improper to me to directly compare things that belong to different orders. It's an apples and oranges thing, since individuals compose any collective; without individuals, the collective simply must fail to exist. First comes the individual; afterwards, various collectives may arise but only by the action of individuals. Individuals are REAL; collectives are figments of imagination, having no substance--abstractions. It's helpful to keep the language straight.
