  2. The "gates of knowledge" are, of course, GUARDED! hahaha...They're guarded by your own ignorance, so ugly and fiercesome as to evoke the most malicious and disgusting imagery! You may be forgiven for presuming an objective/external reality for the "guardians on the threshold", but the subterfuge merely delays your understanding...so such mythology may have its utility...
