  2. "The weapons classification scheme we use doesn't make sense." Look up the federal definition of, "firearm". Anything NOT a long gun is NOT a "firearm". The "classification scheme WE use" phrase alludes to a confusion of terminology, and is uselessly vague. The definitional games being played are politically expedient, but judicially neutering in effect. Definitional strictness strengthens the justice system, but embarrasses the political class. It's all just normal societal woof and waft...hehehe
