  1. Their purpose is to de-individualize people. As long as the appearance of "people" is relatively uniform, no problem; but the people who stand out as individuals, proud, though different, are very dangerous in that they illustrate a range of difference too dynamic for the comfort of the "controllers", who always fear genuine agency.
