  1. Confidence is persuasive, especially to those who themselves lack confidence. Leaders are those who present courses of action when needed, where the followers act on consensus, safety/confidence in numbers stuff. Leaders give lip-service to consensus, while supposing they are smarter/stronger than everyone else, as if to say, "Because I'm smarter than you, I know the right thing to do, no matter what you think!"
