  1. Iran is a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty; they have every right to use nuclear energy. In fact, according to the treaty, the US, among the other signatories are bound to ASSIST Iran in its efforts to develop nuclear energy. No? Show me. The deception is for the purpose of capturing public opinion for a political end. The lie can work because most people don't respect their own opinions enough to take the trouble to make those opinions FUCKING COMPETENT!
