I recall both sheriffs AND prosecutors were against bail. What is the point of fact? But, yeah, this case is F'd bigtime! I think the judge screwed up by trying to lowball the whole thing to avoid scrutiny (which would have revealed the extent of the USUAL level of corruption). Associated LEO is complicit in the usual corruption so is motivated to assist a cover-up. The last thing they wanted was for words like "terrorist", "mulsim", and "illegal immigrant" to get out, and draw the flies and a country's attention.
