Styx identified a weakness of the system in the prejudiced selection/approval of supreme court justices; but that's why there's more than one justice on the bench, so there's a better chance of ameliorating the negative effect of the identified weakness. Further, there's nothing to be done about it; I don't see any effort to "fix" it as producing fewer problems. He nailed one definite nasty: geriatrically-challenged government officials/employees. One story I read was an interview with a guy who works in the "Congressional pharmacy". Very interesting, especially the revelation of how much Alzheimer's meds get dispensed to congresspeople! You have to wonder what kind of job they're doing!
