  1. It doesn't seem there's been any problem with Vietnam's communist unification working out. I look forward to the Koreas reuniting, though it's a very different problem than Vietnam's: culture shock! The north K's political system is predicated on certain "myths" that could not survive western exposure. The only way NK can "come out" is by dispelling its own mythology, upon which, incidentally, lies the whole "national conception", their sense of being a "people". This is a genuine dilemma, especially for Kim.
