  1. The current state of things really isn't so difficult to understand, as Styx indicates. But to do so requires treading in the land of political incorrectness--comfortably, and routinely. The Truth just isn't suited to the faint of heart, who naturally avoid It, for their own protection. Self-deception in the service of self-preservation--it's what "personality" is made of...commonplace; but the resultant burden of self-designed ignorance renders the practitioner virtually insane, and his vision of reality twisted and distorted. In such a circumstance, how can action be honorable, as it proceeds from illusion?! The specter of Truth is fascinating to chase; but to CAPTURE the Truth, one must be willing to die to oneself...!
