For all their polling, I don't think dems are confident they have their fingers on the pulse, so to speak, of American popular sentiment. So all of them declare and wait to assess the character of the popular response. Half the field should shake out very quickly. Isn't it the way it always goes? What will be interesting is how the..."alt-left", leftist element in the party is officially accommodated. It's a nasty soft spot: the right should attack the mod left's conflict with its own rad left as an indication of likely duplicitous behavior. Dem mods say one thing that doesn't happen because of resistance within their party. They'll look like they don't have the ability to keep their promises...not a good look.
