  1. The dem party has the legal power to internally decide which candidate to field against Trump; "primaries" are just bread and circuses, to give the "people" the feeling they matter. That's why the party can do whatever it wants, legally, in this regard. They direct the process to the end the party desires, trying all the while to make the result appear "organic"...it's a democracy, after all...hahaha
