I think it's a metaphysical issue: there are serious spiritual consequences to follow upon acts of homicide; everyone should be socially warned off the path that leads in that direction (call them "morals" if you have to), as a favor, a good turn. However, the "choice" should not be criminalized. Everybody needs to be free to make the WRONG choice!!!
