  1. I know Styx likes the phrase, "moral panic", but I don't find it useful; it doesn't elucidate the matter in a way suggestive of a solution. It's a clever enough description, but, as in all such semantic dragnets, the subtleties are glossed over, even though they hold the clues to real understanding and solution. Just the auxiliary notion that morals can "panic" is absurd, so I find it a difficult idea to work with. It looks as much to me that dems are suffering from decades of repressed racism. The manifestation is understandably grotesque...a caricature.
