  1. Well, the DIRECT route to preservation of free speech is, encryption. Force "them" to show their hand by removing the "speech" dodge with encryption. Then you'll see them attack the HEART of the issue: CONNECTIVITY! That's the real danger to the overt control scheme, the basic ability for people to connect/communicate with other people, at their own instigation, WITHOUT SUPERVISION! Could I state it any more succinctly?! You are not, and cannot be allowed to be, SECRET!

  2. Broadcast regulations might be suitable for live audio/video. But most of the internet is simply historical text record. THAT'S what they want to control...HISTORY! History is the basis of every narrative. Most of the internet is text residing on servers...history. The "broadcast" ethic applied to historical record is utterly perverse! Welcome, "1984"...
